Question:

Can a member of one group post messages to a group they created, to look like they came from their group?

I am moderator of a group, and a former member was caught posting messages from our group into their own newly created group, to give the appearance that the messages were actually posted by members of that new group. The person who caught them saw their own name on the posting, even though they weren't a member of this newly created group. I went there today and saw my own name on posts in their group as well. Is this allowed by Yahoo Groups?

  1. this is against Yahoo's TOS-

"You cannot re-post or re-transmit content that belongs to another user without that user's permission. A Groups owner or moderator (or any other user) cannot re-post or re-transmit Groups content to any other site unless the person has the explicit permission of every group member whose content is being re-posted or re-transmitted."

doesn't matter if you know just who posted it, you can report the group they were found in. group owners are responsible for content submitted to their groups
