  1. If Im reading my information right, the answer is no because the Royals outrank PM's so in essence it would be a step down so to speak

  2. They would have to be voted in by the British Public and the majority of the BP dont want a royal family so, they would not want any of them representing Britain as the REAL head of the country.

  3. Would you rather own the car lot, or be a salesman ?

  4. The members of the royal family do not stand for election to political or non-political positions. The royal family's public role is to stand for unity and neutrality. The United Kingdom is a constitutional monarchy, meaning that the monarch is head of state, however, the real power is with the Prime Minister. If Parliament allowed a royal member to run his or her campaign for the position of Prime Minister, and won the election, that royal member is actually the most powerful person in the UK. Let's say in the worst-case scenario, that royal member became heir or heiress the throne and ascended the throne as Prime Minister, then the UK would actually be turned into a absolute monarchy, which is exactly what the Parliament would NOT want to happen.

  5. I thought the monarchy was above such.  But, if you look at past monarchies such as in Germany and Russia, members of the nobility were in politics such as Prince Max of Baden of Germany.

  6. If they were elected, yes. There is no proscription against a Royal running for elected office.
