  1. Technically, yes, if the shares are issued with the minor's name as the owner of record. This could happen if a shareholder turns in the shares properly endorsed and naming the minor as the new owner. The minor cannot enter into a contract to buy or sell the shares, however. In most cases, the minor's shares are held by an adult as custodian for the minor.
