Can a minor open up a credit card?

Question

I'm 15 i really need to reserve an airplane ticket to Allentown Pennsylvania around Christmas time,but unfortunately i need a credit card to reserve my ticket if anyone knows how i can make this work please help....its for a very good cause

oh and I'm currently living in California

You might ask a relative to help you. Perhaps you could give them the cost of the ticket.  Merchants are forbidden by the law to enter into a contract with a minor, so you will need to get creative about how you pay for the tickets.

A minor cannot open a credit card because contracts are not enforceable against minors (except for necessities).
