Can a misdemeanor be turn into a infraction in California?

i was playing soccer with friends in a closed field but we all entered through a whole then the police came and gave us a misdemeanor ticket. shall i fight in court? is any way to turn this misdemeanor to a infraction?

It depends on what code section you were charged with, but there are many violations out there that can be reduced to an infraction.  That does, however require a court appearance.
