Question:

Can a missed period be due to change in diet?

A little more than a month ago I completely changed my dietary lifestyle. I stopped anything with High Fructose Corn Syrup or non-cal artificial sweeteners, now I only drink water, unsweetened tea, sometimes pure grapefruit juice, and organic milk (with my breakfast). So far I feel healthier than ever and I have lost about 10 pounds and still losing.

However, my period has not started - and until this point I have been getting it regularly (always on the full moon) for many years.

I doubt I am pregnant, because we are always safe, very very careful. I am taking a test in a couple hours just to be sure...

Anyway, can diet cause lateness? Since I feel fabulous, I really see no reason to go to the doctor (unless it turns out I am pregnant). I am just curious really.

  1. yes

  2. Yea, your diet can definitely affect your menstral cycle.  If you dont get your period next month you should see your doctor to be sure that everything is ok with your weight and diet.
