If you were blindfolded, and there were 12 babies in the room, would you be able to tell which one was yours by smelling. Kinda like a snake smelling her eggs.

  1. Probably, mommy's have lots of mommy instincts.

  2. I'm not sure  but I know baby could pick it's mother by smell.

  3. i love the smell of my daughter! i think i could.

  4. I think I might be able to.

  5. Probably not.  Not me anyway.  If any of the kids used the same shampoo as mine (highly likely considering its just the typical Johnson's and Johnson's), I'd never know the difference.  However, if a blind mother had the same task, I'm sure she'd be able to do it.  As visual beings, we aren't as in tune with our other senses as blind people are.

  6. I love the scent of my baby, but I'm not sure. I tend to love the smell of ALL babies! I'm sure she would be able to know who I was by my smell...I'm not sure if I'm that in-tune though.

  7. I think so, especially if the baby is not wearing a squeaky clean outfit and it's natural body odor gets on the outfit.  Also, if you are breastfeeding  your baby can smell you too.  If you put your milk on a towel on one side of your baby and someone elses breastmilk on the other side, your baby will eventually turn towards your milk.

  8. I don't think I could tell just by the smell.  But I do know that a baby can tell the smell of their own mother from others moms, especially the smell of their own mom's milk  :)

  9. Very interesting question!  I don't think I'd be able to sniff my daughter out, no.  But agree with the poster above, I think a blind person may be able to given her other senses would be heightened.
