Question:

Can a mouse climb from your bathroom floor into a toilet bowl?

A mouse is in our house (we have found his presents ALL over the place) and a few days ago a mouse was found dead in the toilet.

We know there is at least one other mouse because we have found droppings since then. We have found droppings in places where it would seem impossible for a mouse to climb up onto. Ex. two seperate countertops and a desk.

  1. A mouse can climb ANY place with no difficulty.

  2. Mice are not bachelors > they never live alone. & yes, they are amazing at their ability to elude capture.  They tend to burrow in between walls where very small openings exist.  And also attics where they're not likely to be disturbed.  They will breed rather quickly also.

If you're not squeamish, bait a trap with peanut butter > they love the stuff.  But you'll have to remove the dead mouse after it snaps over their neck.

They particularly  love warm places in the cold weather season too.  Which is why they are more prevalent in winter than summer if they're field mice.

  3. Yes. Mice are surprisingly resourceful.
