Can a naturalized citizen be vice-president?

What would then happen if the president dies? They wouldn't be allowed to be president. Is there an emergancy election????? Or we do we just move down the list to the speaker of the Hosue of Rep?

  2. The requirements for VP is the same as the President so he/she must be qualified (constitutionally) to take over as President.

  3. No. The Twelfth Amendment to the Constitution requires that anyone serving as Vice President has to meet the eligibility standards for President as set forth in Article Two of the Constitution. So, both the Vice President and President have to be natural born U.S. citizens. If both of them die, then the President will be the Speaker of the House of Representatives, followed by the President Pro Tem of the Senate, then the cabinet officers beginning with the Secretary of State.
