Can a non-attractive girl make it far in the music industry?

so im not totally unatractive.

so obviously my face isnt the problem...

i weigh about 209 give or take.

and i am about to go audition for a band.

do you think they will not take me because of my size?

i have lost about 15 lbs in the past month but they dont know that.

im trying really hard.

but do you think it would help if i mentioned that if they got me as there lead singer then

- we would have all the studio axcess we need.

- we would get free music videos cause my best friends mom is a mv producer.

- we would get photography cheap because my cuz is a professional photographer.

- and i got connections out in cali cause the guy that records me used to live there and still has friends at hollywood records and stuff like that out there.

or should i not mention that cause i would sound stuck up?

i cant make up my mind.

Of course you can if you have a good enough voice! it doesnt matter about looks... no one would mind if you were too tall, too small, too fat, too thin.. its more about your voice!

You could absolutely make it! I think you are beautiful! But, that's not the point. You aren't fat either. The music industry is pretty much done with looks (haven't you seen the beautiful girls American Idol has been disgusted with?), what they want is talent. Raw talent. Well you're right, your face isn't the problem. Neither is your body. Beautiful isn't one size hun. Don't mention any of that stuff to them. It's not a secret that audtions are based on more than just voice, it's the whole package. But what you can get them shouldn't be included in the package. If you don't feel confident about your whole appearance then play it off with your voice, your personality, your energy and just go for it! You are great, and I'm sure you're an amazing performer as well, and go out there and give them all you've got!

what kind of band r u auditiong for?

some punk and heavy metal bands have overwieght singers and it is more accepted in that area.

if u are auditiong for a rock band or country band, it might play a minor role in the decision, maybe. like say it's up to u and a girl who is in perfect shape; and u can sing great ans she sound horrible, then u will most likely get it. however if u r pretty much equal in talent, she might get it b/c the music biz is about selling s*x and more people like people who r in great shape.

congrats on losing weight. 15 lbs. in a month sound like a lot for an average person tho. make sure u r doing it the right way, so u don't gain it back quickly and so u don't get saggy skin.

it's very wise that u want to lose the weight b/c u will need to be in tip top shape for performing long gigs, it may seem easy but it's not, believe me! when ur on their for a few hours in a row with only a minute or so for a breather and those HOT lights, it can get VERY tiring. make sure u work on conditioning.

now should u bring up about having connections? it depends.

if everything is goes well and u like the band and it seems like u have a good shot, then yeah id say go for it it might secure ur place.

if they don't seem to like u, then id say no. it might get u the place, but there will be tension in the band for at least a LONG time if not all the time that u are together.
