Can a nurse or nursing student help me??

Question

the order is 500 mg of Ampicillin and 500 mg are available. reconstitute with 1.8mL sterile water for a concentration of 250 mg/mL. How much do i give?? if you know how to solve please show me how!

The 1.8ml is used to throw you off in this problem.  Look at the amount you have and the amount you need only.    

250mg/1ml  = 500mg/x    solve for x

think about how many 250 mg pills would you give to make 500 mg......2.  same thing here give 2ml.  Hope this helps

If the order is 500, ... give 500.

If you've got 250mg/cc give 2 cc.s.
