  1. Octopus defence is primary avoidance and flight but they can bite with their sharp beak, have potent venom, in some cases enough to insure or kill a human, and are very strong. When threatened the Octopuses first reaction is normally to release Ink and initiate flight

  2. aside from the blue ringed octopus..

A giant pacific octopus COULD kill a scuba diver.  There have been no deaths yet, and attacks are almost unheard of, but this guy came close.

  3. Yes they can.

Most octopus have beaks that can pierce a person and if they bite one of your main arteries than you would bleed to death. Some octopus have venom in thier beaks so you would get poisoned and possibly die. Also, thier grip is tremendous so they could strangle and suffocate you. If you were scuba diving than an octopus could pull your breathing tube out so you would drown.

  4. well I can think of a couple of ways first if you were scuba diving they are strong enough to pull your regulator out of your mouth and if you were to deep to swim to the surface before you drown. Or at the sushi bar you could choke on a chunk of it and die.

  5. Yes.

The Blue-Ringed Octopus lives in Victorian waters. It's a pretty little octopus, about the size of your hand. Unfortunately, it gets even prettier when it's annoyed, and its blue rings become quite bright. When it gets annoyed it also bites and it has a venom which can be deadly to humans.

Small children looking in rock pools pick the octopus up because of its colours and they get bitten. Because the octopus is small, its beak is less able to pierce the skin of an adult.
