  1. No, but they could very well die from something else, that being running out of food they can get to (remember, they hull the seeds and leave the hulls on top of their food), or getting sick from the bacteria that will build up way too much in the water if it's not changed at least once or twice a day.  You really need to have someone give them fresh food and water every day.

  2. The radio should help but birds do tend to get lonely & bored.  One sign of this is pulling out their feathers.  Pulling out their feathers can make the bird look pretty bad but can also have devistating affects.  If too many feathers are pulled out and they happen to pull one that bleeds alot this could cause death.  But don't freak out.  The birds should be ok for a few days especially since there are two of them.  Having someone come in and visit with your birds would help keep the bird from stressing.

  3. If you have other birds, it won't die of loneliness  Give our parakeet alot of attention and love.

  4. No, your parakeet can't die because it is lonley. BUT, it can get very depressed and ill. I dont think that 4 days will matter too much as long as you give them LOTS of attention when you get home. If you left the radio on and you have 2 birds, they will probably not get too lonely. If you have anymore questions please email me. Hope this Helped!

  5. Probably because of the food supply.  It must be changed daily, water too.

  6. Parakeets get scared easy. My niece's parakeet died during a thunderstorm.

  7. Four days will be fine as long as you give them lots of food and water (read: multiple regular-depth dishes containing food and water, not just a couple really big ones), and make sure none are located directly under perches (birds don't have the sense to make sure they don't "go" in their own food/water). Honestly, a bird won't drop dead just because you miss changing his water for a few days. But if you put vitamins in your birds' water, I recommend not using them while you're gone, because it can make bacteria in the water grow faster. If you have two birds they'll keep each other company just fine until you return.
