My mom is not letting me go to school and took my car keys. I don't live in an area where a school bus come so I drive there. A lot have happened but I was terribly sorry and i told her many times. I felt that it wasn't my fault anyway, but who am i to argue with an adult. I was wondering if not letting me go to school at 17 is illegal? And what would happen if i call the police? How should i handle the situation at this moment?

  1. Call your school and inquire. I am not buying your statement that there is no bus. Your Mother does not have to allow you to drive.

  2. You can call the school and/or the area's truancy officers. She can get in trouble for truancy. You should tell her that not allowing you to attend school is ridiculous. Do you have any friends that can pick you up? Call the school and ask if the bus can add your house to the route.

  3. It is illegal.  Contact Child Protective Services and tell them your story.  No matter what happened, your mom should be making sure you go to school.

  4. Do you have a child protective services agency in your area?  Call them.  Not letting you go to school is a form of neglect and abuse.  If you don't know how to get in touch with them, call the police.  What ever your mistakes are, if you don't get an education, you will never be able to get past them!!
