  2. They can only mimic a conversation, remember it is a bird, they dont hold conversations with eachother.

  4. Parrots can only be taught to mimic words and sounds that they hear.  They cannot think and reason the way humans do, therefore, they cannot put together coherent sentences on their own.

No, they do not actually carry on conversations.  You may ask them something and they give you the right answer or something, but this is because they have heard the question before.  They can not reason enough to actually converse.  My grey will whistle and yell, "go junior" when the nascar race is on....she knows the sound of the cars.  Some birds are so smart you would really think they can carry on conversations, but in reality,....no.  Please read my profile
