Like a child, who went out with a friend & his family, and upon returning home says, Johnny's momma yelled at the other cars...

  1. It depends on the situation.

If it is on an an average day with no emergencies,

then yes i can pretty well live with that observation.

  2. I don't think it's the best way to observe a person's true character. It is often a way to see how a person behaves under stress though.

I think the best measure of a person's true character is how they treat people from whom they have nothing to gain.

  3. It is certainly a good indication...I don't know if it is the "best" but it is one of the easiest to observe and interpret.

Reminds me of a funny story my pastor told last year.

A woman became angry when the car in front of her decided to stop for a yellow light instead of accelerating through it (so she could follow).  She started shouting cuss words and f***************d out the window at the other driver.  She didn't notice the police car behind her until he flipped on his lights and approached her window.   He asked her to get out of the car, cuffed her, and had her vehicle towed to impound.  He took her to the station and put her in a holding cell.

About an hour later, he came back and told the woman she was free to go.  When she asked why he had arrested her, he said that he had noticed the "Honk if you love Jesus" bumper sticker, the fish symbol on the trunk, and the cross hanging from her rear view mirror...and when he saw how she was behaving, he thought that she must have stolen the vehicle!

  4. No, a person's true character can only be observed through time, the longer you know a person, the easier it is to predict how he/she may react or act during a given situation, and also people have been know to "pour they re souls out" while intoxicated, i know from experience, i was drunk last night and started talking about... well it doesn't matter what i was talking about, all that matters is that i know i was genuine when i spoke.

  5. A person's true character can be observed through his or her behavior.

  6. I agree...there's a lot that can be observed.

  7. ya

  8. lol Yes and no. Where I live you stand a 90% chance of some idiot hitting you. I've had one wreck in my life and it was a jackass making a left hand turn from the right hand lane. I was in the left lane when he tried. You need a joint and a xanax in you to drive here. The highway patrol warns people traveling interstate not to stop in this town because the drivers are so bad. No kidding. I'm not from here and I wish I was some other place.

  9. yes.

  10. Not 'Best be determined' ,but can. I know both my father's and mother's driving is true to their character for the most part.

  11. ...and suppose Johnny's mom was having a bad day?

Just because Johnny's mom is an atheist is no reason to think she's always like that.

  12. sometimes but what if youre sick or in pain?

  13. Yes but not recommended while driving a car yourself.

Or being a passenger in some.  You will be too busy in pleading prayer for you to just live till the end of the drive!!!!!!!!!

  14. The time you can't is when they are in a coasting mode. That is when they are relaxed and calm. The time when their character comes out best is when they under some sort of stress. Then what they have learnt (or not learnt) about dealing with problems/trouble becomes obvious. That also applies to negative personal trait that they may or may not have corrected.

  15. No. My mom is one of the most caring, loving, helpful people I've ever met. But as soon as she gets behind the wheel, she can go from driver to b*tch in .25 seconds.
