Can a person be to far gone psychologically?

Either with to much trauma or bad luck or injuries, could a person be to far gone psychologically where there is no help and no way to deal with life?

  1. I know that it does get to a point where a person can be so far gone the only person who can help them is themselves.

    That's the "Illusionary world" That people enter when they go truly insane, to the point of which they no longer even recognise this world as real and substitute an entire reality of their own devising.

    Note; Being unable to accept reality is something that even a delusional person shouldn't have trouble doing.

    A person who cannot accept reality is a person who sees fluffy pink elephants frolicking on green hills, and doesn't realise that he's walking into the middle of a road when he goes over to see them closer.

    When a person gets like that, trust me - the only person who can help them is themselves.


  2. It seems possible, but I'm an eternal optimist. For sure I've seen such despair used as justification for giving up and have also seen indomitable spirits accomplish the "impossible."

    For sure, the deciding factors are within the person who is suffering.
