  1. I am a paramedic and the answer is absolutely no. I have to take blood pressures on patients at different positions and sometimes different arms. When taken with a very expensive  (20 grand on our ambulances) monitor a blood pressure taken in succession will be a couple points (#) different. It is also different if they are lying down, sitting, or standing (orthostatic blood pressure) (again always different).

  2. A person's blood pressure goes through natural variation throughout the day:

Adding to that, any measurement is subject to random error in the measurement, resulting in what's called coefficient of variation (CoV):

So, it would be very unusual to have EXACTLY the same blood pressure three times in a row.

However, if your doctor took your blood pressure manually (ie. with a hand-pumped sphygmomanometer and a pair of stethoscope), he/she may have rounded off the readings -- as it's commonly taught in med schools:

If you and your dad happen to be of the body type where blood pressure does not go through large variations, it is possible with rounding, the numbers ended up being about the same.

    Hope this helps.
