Can a person get a driving license with 6/18 for both eyes?

Is it possible to drive a car and get a license with 6/18 vision? both eyes are 6/18.

  1. If your vision can be corrected to pass the eye exam - then absolutely. If that's uncorrectable then no.


  2. It depends if that is the best corrected vision possible, or if that measurement is without a correction.

    If that is the visual acuity without glasses, then there shouldn't be a problem with glasses on. But that person would be required to wear them to drive.

    If that is the best  correction possible, even with glasses, then there is a problem.

    That is most likely uncorrected, but would have 6/6 with glasses on....that's what counts.

  3. Yes if you wear glasses  to correct the vision. The MVD or DVM will give you a paper to take to your local doctor. Each state is different on what they have to say about vision.

    You will have a a little sticker put on your Drivers License saying that you must wear glasses in order to drive. You might not be able to drive at night.
