Can a person get a picture of someone that you've haven't seen in a long time off the enternet?

I've be looking for someone and I know that person lives in Chicago, however, I don't know where. I know the person's name and would like to get in touch. However, I haven't seen or spoken with my friend in years. Is it possible to find this person and get a updated picture from the enternet? I don't want any surprises. Can any one help?

you can try the social site like myspace, facebook, etc, and do a search of there names on different search engines to see what comes up, good luck/
