  1. I've heard many stories of people waking up from comas and saying they heard their loved ones saying such-and-such, so yes... I believe they can sometimes.

A guy in England recently woke up from a coma because his wife started playing Rolling Stones' "Satisfaction."

  2. no they cant

  3. Yes, the hearing is actually one of the last things to stop in death (unless they are deaf, of course). Usually, when a visitor is with a patient in a coma, they tell them to talk to them because they can often hear and it can be a comfort.

There were several cases of family playing a comatosed person music and they come out of their coma. It´s amazing and doctors are often not sure how it happens.

But yes, unless in a vegitive state, coma patients will hear.

  4. Yes they can.

  5. Well My Mom says she could hear us...She was dying on us and we would try anything to get a reaction out of her...She would respond when she would hear my daughter and somehow I knew it would make her sad...her face would go sad...and also when we would read her about the sales going on at JC Penney's (lol) We would say"C'mon Mom get up...JcPenney's is having a sale we gotta go...and I'd start reading what was on sale by the flier...Her heart rate would start going crazy...She was literally living on machines...She's ok now though...She even remembers bits and pieces...kinda like when you try to recall a dream the next morning she says...
