My two friends are haveing an argument.

My one friend says that you can't raise your IQ. He says that it's just initial intelligance and that once's IQ doesn't raise, even if some one over time learns knew knowledge and studies.

My other friend says that it's possible that some one can raise their IQ over time. He says that if one studies and learns more and takes another IQ test that his IQ test points would rise.

Which one is right?

  1. if you learn Latin or Greek, or increase your vocabulary dramatically

    OR

if you practice the types of questions on many IQ tests ( so you don't have to read the instructions and think them over)

you can raise your score on an IQ test.

BUT - Can you deliberately raise your intelligence? as oppossed to your IQ score? ( they aren't the same)

    unknown.

  2. no... I.Q. means intelligence quota...  not just how much you know...  you can be normal and have a lot of knowledge... higher I.Q. means you learn it easier...

  3. Oh, I'm sure you can raise your Iq. I've jumped from 117 to 122 in a year, but then again, I am only 14 and thus my lack of a brain is still developing... slowly...

But I'm almost certain that if you practised on the questions you would get better.

  4. YES.. you can raise your IQ

  5. The equation for IQ is (intellectual age) / (actual age) multiplied by 100. That means you can increase your IQ by developing more mature reasoning skills, or getting younger.

    I suggest the former.;)
