Can a person really make money from ebay. What about shipping cost and shipping material. Does this take away

from the profit in the sell. (Example) if I bought an item for five dollars and sold it for ten dollars and the shipping was four dollars. Where is the profit? I am thinking about trying to sell on ebay and just want some info.

You charge the customer for the shipping and packing, but you do have to pay e-bay for each listing. The fee depends on a variety of options but is not much. Tons of people make money from e-bay, sometimes as their only job. I have used it with some success myself and recommend it to others.

It is quite possible to make a decent income off eBay, but you have to know what you're doing. There are no quick and easy shortcuts, or everyone would be making a fortune on eBay. But it is easy to get started.

Determining what to sell is much more complicated than merely listing an item. You need to (1) chose a product that is in demand, (2) know your product extremely well, (3) have a source to purchase that product at a very good price, (4) know the marketplace for your product, (5) know where you can fit into that market, and (6) be able to sell your product at a competitive price on eBay, yet (7) still assure yourself of an adequate profit for your effort.

It's not easy to get started, as you can see, but if you get all the pieces to fit properly, it can be very lucrative.

first off u'll either get stuff from a wholesaler or u'll just find stuff for cheap and then sell it for profit. (i find cheap stuff at stores) I've sold shoes on ebay, i find them for less than $5 dollars and sell them for $40+ each time. and the shipping is added to the price u ask. so customer pays for example $40 + 10 shipping= $50 bucks. yes ebay takes a small fee (like 1 dollar) then paypal takes another small fee, but they're small. look at "completed listings" so u can get a feel of what certain things sell for. before i buy something to sell, i look on ebay for what the average selling cost is.
