Can a person under 18 get a phone line connected?

Question

Basically, i want to get broadband but my mum is most likely gonna wait till i can get it in my name when i turn 18. So question is, would i be able to get a telephone line connected with telstra at 17 years old? Also, if i made an arrangement and got my mum to connect the telephone line, but have all costs and responsibilities put in my name, would telstra allow it? Or could i get it connected at 17 in my name, with my mothers permission? Really want broadband....

Just request your mother to get you broadband connected!

The truth is, at least here in the states, that you as a minor cannot be held liable for your actions so most companies will not allow you to sign a contract in your own name. your mum will have to do it in hers and you and her will have to come to your own own agreement as to payments. but she will be the one liable...

No angel , no service provider would give you a conenction if you are not 18

the best way for now is ask permission from mom and get  your conenction
