Can a plane fly with one wing?

  1. Planes  wings produce lift. If you lose one, and the weight and balance would be thrown way off around the longitudinal axis. And there is no way you'd have enough aileron control on the other wing to keep it from rotating around the longitudinal axis, either. Therefore its not possible to fly a plane without a missing wing.


  2. yes it can.  It happened to an f-15.  It was on the history channel.
