  1. In a bar fight ................Yes

  2. No you can not just change the tip because the shaft is thicker on billiard cues than on snooker cues. And I would not recommend trying to physically change a cue shaft to fit a different tip this way.

However it is possible to have one interchangeable cue for both size balls. Its not really a conversion of a cue as such but YES, you can purchase both a snooker shaft and a billiard shaft to fit on the same butt handle.

An example is Predator Cues have the 3/14-shaft that is suited to billiard size balls and they also have the Z-shaft with a finer taper to a smaller tip that is suitable for Snooker size balls. Both shafts have the same joints that connect the shaft to the butt.

  3. Snooker cues are shorter and lighter.  Although the smaller tip does have influence as to how it plays, these other dimensions also will yield differences.  On the whole, I find snooker cues to be much stiffer than pool cues.  If money isn't the issue, I would get a new cue for snooker and use the pool cue for pool.
