  1. Yes, but in order for it to be enforceable, you would need to enter into a contract, which would also mean if the employer chose not to use you within less than a six month period, you would be allotted a certain compensation for the period of the contract.  

    To ask for a commitment without a contract that gives you due consideration is not enforceable....they can ask, you can say ok, but if you change your mind, they have little recourse against you.
