I took a pregnancy test and there is a VERY VERY faint line(you almost need a magnifying glass) showing it's positive. Could that be because I gave birth 4 and a half months ago or am I defintely pregnant?????

  1. Its unlikely to get a false positive. I think you should see your doctor to get a blood test. I got pregnant 4 months after giving birth to my first. Good Luck!

  2. I gave birth 5 months ago and took one last month and it was negative, so I am thinking you are pregnant.

  3. That seems a little late in the game for HCG to still be in your system.  I would contact your OBGYN and ask for a blood test to see if that shows positive as well.  Does the line have color or is it more of a gray color?  If it doesn't have color than it may just be a evaporation line.  You could also wait a couple of days and see if the line starts to get darker.

  4. ur pregnant

  5. I think you're pregnant again!! I know it's normal a few weeks after to still have hCG hormones in your system which could give a false pregnancy test, but 4 months later?? I'd make a doctors appt. so you can have an ultrasound to know for sure!!

  6. It's possible to be a false positive but not likely at 4.5 months pp. I would wait a few days and re-test or give your doctor a call for a blood test. You might need to be tested twice to see if your levels are going up or down to be sure.

  7. Could just be a false alarm but I would go see a doctor just in case!! An if you are good luck dear lol will have your hands full!! Mine are about 2 years apart an my hands are full also!! But, def. see a doctor if theres a chance you can be!!

  8. It wouldn't show positive 4 months after giving birth.  You're probably pregnant.

  9. You must read the test within whatever time frame it says on the box. There is a type of false positive - I forget what it's called - if you let it dry sometimes it looks like a positive. But it's not.

Pregnancy tests work because there is a layer of like antibodies where that line is and if you are pregnant the dye sticks to the line -- so there *is* something there if you look at it with a magnifying glass, you know? So don't do that. :)

Take another test and read it within the correct time frame and then throw it away after that. No magnifying glasses.

I know it's tough. It makes you crazy.

  10. After you give birth, the pregnancy hormone leaves your body after about 24 hours (usually one hour, though).

It's possible for certain medications to give a false positive result.  If you're on any medication, google it to see if it can cause one.

And be careful with birth control.  Using antibiotics can make most b/c ineffective.  And anti-inflammitories (tylenol) can interfere with IUD's.

Other than that, you could def. be preggo.  Wait another week and take another test, then confirm it with your doctor.
