Can a pregnant cat have one pre-mature kitten?

But still carry the rest of the litter full term? We have a stray cat that just had a kitten but it appears she may still have more in her. Shes a small cat, full grown. The kitten she already had is dead.

  1. It was simply stillborn - probably never alive.  You need to get the momma to a vet in case the others are stillborn as well, if they are, they need to be removed asap or momma could have major problems.  Has she been getting prenatal care?


  2. feel her stomach and see if you can feel any and if you can and she doesn't have them by tomorrow i'd take her to the vet

  3. If you're not in a position to care for this stray, please take her to an animal shelter.  If she has remaining live births, she will then be spayed and all will be adopted.
