  1. I don't think that they have a right to exclude non christians. I believe this would fall under discrimination.

  2. yes. it's a private school. they can do whatever they want.

  3. I don't think they are excluding nonChristians necessarily.  But let's face it. If their study focuses around religion, and you know nothing of theirs or don't believe, a lot of people including you might feel uncomfortable. All faculty at a private christian or any school should be there to set the proper example for the children.

And there are plenty of jobs out there, so go look somewhere else if not happy with their ad.

  4. "It's for a music position... not teaching religion"

Yes, in the USA this form of discrimination is absolutely legal; as it should be.  Every teacher in the school, no matter the subject, is influencing the students.  Why would they want a non-Christian?  Freedom of association is guaranteed in the Bill of Rights.

  5. yes...if it is a part of the job description then it is fine.

to the person that said it is discrimination:

being a christian is one of the things that qualifies a person for the job. its the same thing for a teacher who has to have completed certain courses in order to be qualified to teach certain subjects.

  6. in a word yes
