Can a private investigator investigate a sibling?

My brother the PI has initiated an investigation of me concerning conversations I had with our mother about her Will. Seems unethical and conflict of interest to me since we are both beneficiaries.

  1. A private investigator will investigate anyone you pay them to.

  2. why not?

  3. They can investigate whoever they want to

  4. His sibling or yours?

If you have the money, the answer is yes.

  5. There is nothing to prohibit a private investigator from investigating whoever he wants.  If it causes you some kind of undue (!) monetary loss or loss of value, you can use that argument in a civil trial for damages, but it won't affect his PI license at all.

Certain professions, such as doctors, funeral homes, occasionally lawyers, and others will avoid the performance of business with their own families out of consideration of ethics, but again there is nothing to actually prohibit them.

  6. They can investigate  anyone you pay them to.

  7. If you are trying to hire an investigator to watch YOUR sibling, then yes. If an investigator is trying to solve a crime involving their own sibling, chances are that their findings will be inadmissable in court due to "conflict of interests" or "biasness". Though it's not impossible. We would need more information. Hope this helps :)

  8. They can investigate anyone they want to.
