if you are hooking it up to a computer with internet, yes.

If you mean a stolen one....Yes it can be traced, even if you rip the serial number tags off it....

You see, they are adding the serial number into the EEprom that has the software that makes the unit run!

Exchanging EEproms doesn't make it go away either, because it REWRITES the original serial number into it if you exchange the EEprom...

And all it takes is a TV Tech to access the Service Menu to verify it....and I'm sure there's a cop with an electronics background or a technician at every cop station maintaining transmitters, and computers.....

They sure make it tougher to steal nowadays.....
