Can a pub Landlord/Landlady countersign my passport?

I need to have my passport countersigned and I don't know too many people on the official list. Someone told me the above can sign it - is this true??

  2. yes!i worked in a bar and my boss was only to pleased to do so,if the person has his/her own business and knows you for a few years then its fine

  3. A business person can but only if they have known you for a minimum of 2 years

  4. in short NO it has to be aclergyman or doctor, someone of professional standing

  5. Yes. I got the landlord of my local to sign mine and that was about 6 months ago. I doubt the rules have changed since then. They just have to be a licencee.
