  1. That's not a good idea, since they eat/nibble on just about everything. The string from the towels is not digestable and could get caught in the digestive tract. Do u have some type of shelter/ house for them in their cage? They like to hide!

  2. You can, but...

    1. The guinea pig wouldn't bother to sleep on it.

    2. It will probably chew it up.

If you want a softer place for your guinea pig to sleep, buy Carefresh bedding. It is soft and cottony and safe! :)

  3. You can give him antipill fleece. You can buy a big scrap at walmart for like.. $3.

    It won't shred into strings.

But you'll have to monitor him every day to make sure he's not eating it.

  4. I used a little fleece blanket. My guinea pig loves sleeping on it but it will go to the bathroom on it. So you need to wash it at least once a week.

  5. Yes!  towels are better than bedding because bedding has a lot of dust in it which can give guinea pigs respiratory problems.  I use baby blankets and bath towels instead of bedding. My guinea pigs like it much better than bedding because of the soft nest, they often lie down on there sides to take a rest on them which they don't do with bedding
