  1. They are able to summarize a philosophy but they themselves are not one.

  2. Well the fact that you don't understand the meaning of philosophy is a great start because anyone who knows philosophy will tell that you can't truly know the philosophy, just certain philosophies!

A quote can be a paraphrasing of a philosophy. A philosophy doesn't have to be deeper but you should be able to at least attempt to go in to details about what you're speaking of. "Live like there is no tomorrow" is an excellent starting example. Its easily expanded on but those details can be simplified into that phrase or quote.

So I suppose the answer is yes, so long as it explains how you approach/think of/ or believe about something, be it life, science, religion, computers, cars, cups anything.

  3. Philosophy and Science. One thing you will never find is a Complete Book of either. Theories in both are raised up, knocked down, accepted, rejected, believed, rejected, flexible, inflexible, certain, uncertain, and yet many quotes are entire life styles full of wisdom and intelligence. Whereas others.....well.....

  4. I will use the Quote mindabovematter used (By the way i give him the old thumbs up) "Live like there is no tomorrow" can it be a philosophy how could it not!

I fell asleep yesterday...hoping to find tomorrow...I woke up tomorrow and only found today that's when i knew it was all i really had!

Those words are mine but i don't know where the influence came from so i don't take credit there are so many in my consciousness I'm not sure its completely my own.

  5. Fear is pain arising from the anticipation of evil.

I count him braver who overcomes his desires than him who conquers his enemies; for the hardest victory is over self.

In poverty and other misfortunes of life, true friends are a sure refuge. The young they keep out of mischief; to the old they are a comfort and aid in their weakness, and those in the prime of life they incite to noble deeds.

It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it.

Those are all quotes, so you tell me
