Can a "risk" ever actually prove to be a caution?

Andrew E, I know the definitions of these terms. I think I'll have to give an example-

If a caution is causing suffocation & the risk holds the relief. Then?

  1. Risk is defined as the probability of an incident occurring multiplied by the damage that would result if the incident does occur.  Caution is what is taken when a risk is identified.  So no, they are not the same thing, but they tend to go hand and hand.


  2. If a caution is causing you to feel suffocated, then maybe the risk is worth taking. However, it depends how bigger risk or gamble it is? If you are being overly cautious because you are afraid to take the risk then maybe just "do it" and see what happens. But still it is worth weighing up the pros and cons a bit first. If you decide that you cannot take the risk then i suppose you have to live with the "never knowing". To sum up, the risk itself cant really prove to be the caution, but the risk can help you overcome cautiousness sometimes...
