Can a radio promotions internship help me break into television?

I'm currently at a small but well-respected/established radio station. I'm the only radio promotions intern (compared to the larger stations that have 2-4 at a time) and they'd like to extend my internship to 6 months from 3 months.

Is it wise to stay longer or pursue other opportunities? Ideally, I'd like to be an intern for a television news station and I love to write more than plug events. I do a lot more than most interns do though, almost along the lines of a promotions coordinator.

Our radio station does have connections with the local news stations though so I could network that way. I don't know! Help! This is my last year of college!

Keep going to college.  Get your degree.  Stay longer if it is convenient and ok with you to continue your work at the well respected station.  In the meantime, keep looking out for opportunities for a television news station.  Also, research on the internet, maybe on how to break into the television news business, and the requirements needed to be in that field.  You sound like you are moving along just fine.  I like how you are veering toward a career choice, so don't waste opportunities that may come along, and keep learning about your field of interest:)  Things will work out, be the best you can be for today:)

actually they can not if u want to go on to televison u have to wait until u actually here on the news that there is an oppening if not u should quit that intern ship but u dont have to but u should because gets put on ur recored for ever and if someone finds out about u they wont want some on that has never been on tv before and so they wont chose u  but if u realy realy want to be on tv then u go to where ever they shoot the news or what ever show want to be on and they just might hire u
