  1. Well no a real gun would have live bullets.

  2. Revolvers, bolt action rifles, etc...can. No problem.

Most semi-automatic firearms will most likely jam feeding the rounds, or jam trying to expell the spent casing. Feeding one cartridge at a time manually could work on most.

"Hollywood" guns have non-stock springs (etc)  to allow the lighter recoil of blanks (dummy loads) to cycle auto/semi-auto firearms.

  3. Yes you can fire blanks but they leave a lot of fouling in the bore. Run a brush through the bore after you have fired them.

  4. Yes, most guns can fire blanks

  5. yes - its the rounds themselves that are live or blank

  6. Yes.  Especially revolvers.  Semi-automatics won't normally cycle blanks.  Remember, even blanks can injure, blind, maim or even kill.  Brandon Lee was killed with a gun loaded with blanks.  So was Jon-Erik Hexum.
