  1. No, but an uncontrolled mob of uneducated, poverty stricken, illegal immigrants can.


  2. No. A recession   only makes poor the people who loose their jobs and can't get new ones. This is usually only a few percent of the population, but 1933 the unemployment rate was 25%, However even during the Great depression  this high rate only lasted for a year, and the unemployment  rate quickly fell to 10%. The post WWII high of 10% was durning the Reagen    years  but the economy had nearly recovered  18 mo later.

  3. No, but a depresssion can, a collapse of an entire sturcture can.
