My little brother wants to join the Marines, but he is Canadian. Since I am American born, and in Marines, he wants to follow in my foot steps and become a Marine.

Can a recruiter sponsor my little brother in getting a green card? Or do you think they won't put in the effort?

  1. The green card is also known as a permanent residency card. In order to get one you need to become a permanent resident of the United States. You'll need to get an immigrant visa and go through the entire process. Its not very fast and its not easy.

  2. No, the Marines can't sponsor your brother for a green card. US immigration law doesn't work that way, although many recruiters wish it did. He'll have to qualify for green card status in some other way and if he does and still wants to be a Marine, then he can enlist.
