  1. No.  I have a Macy's consumer credit card as well.  One time, I forgot to pay the minimum of $5.00 and then remembered about a week later.  The next minimum payment was $35, due to the late payment.  About four months later, I paid late by one day and worried that they were going to jack up the minimum payment again, but it didn't happen.  A few dollars short is no big deal, but if you continue to do it, they will probably raise your minimum payment until you get back on track again.  They will not turn you into a collection agency unless you don't pay anything at all for a month or more.

  2. it depends on the state that the store is in. some states want the store to try for three months, others have a zero tolerance policy on it.

  3. Not usually, they might up your interest rate, but not send you to collections for that. It usually has to be 30 days late for them to do that.

  4. well duhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

    yes they can

  5. Yes they can send you to collections b/c you short paid them.  They look a that as a partial payment and can send you to a collection agency if they feel that you are defaulting.  They won't report you to the credit agencies until you are more than 30 days past due though.
