  1. no not at all....... in my point of view....

  2. Yes.

If the flow is strong and fast, use an undershot waterwheel which will turn a generator. An rpm increasing gear system may be necessary to attain the required rpm of the motor and the speed can be regulated using mechanical governor.

  3. no because everbody who touches the water will get electricuted

  4. yes why not

  5. Yes provided that the river is having appropriate speed for the current. This will ensure the turbine that connected to the generator is having enough speed (rotation) to produce electricity.

  6. Rivers are the sources of power. Dams are built to hold large amount of water at a certain height. This gives them potential energy. When this water falls on turbine blades it causes the blades to move. Now these moving blades move the generator to produce electricity. But as one of the contributor wrote, if the current is at high speed, the force of the current can be used to produce the electricity.

  7. yess its call Hydroelectricity ..and the river has pressure that kan push a motor thus creating friction ..

  8. simply by using a turbine by building a dam through which u can store water to store energy to run a turbine...

  9. ya but we have to use a turbine to produce electricity like dams.

  10. Yes, by water turbine.

But it need to make a dam for lifting the water high, then pass the force of water by tunnels, then use the water turbine to operate the rotation of generator, then generator produce electricity.
