Someone said more than 5 people on roommate agreement (not lease, lease is signed by only 3 people and we are 7) is not legal. Is that true?

I thought anything written on paper and signed by all people is legally binding. Your input is required. Thanks!

  1. It more then likely is not legal to have that many unrelated people living in one house.   But it depends on your location.

  2. Generally, local housing codes limit the number of unrelated individuals that can occupy a residence.

Anything written in a lease that is contrary to local, state or federal law is illegal and unenforceable.
