Can a seller drop out after accepting a bid?

Question

I want to buy a home but someone else has also made a bid on the home and the seller has accepter there bid. Can the seller still accept a larger bid from me? Or they locked in with the first bid they accepted?

Do they have a contract?  If there is a contract then the seller cannot change his mind.  You'll just have to wait and see if the deal falls through.  But if there is no contract, it's fair game.

If they already signed, No.  There would be heavy legal fees.
