my fiance is an egyptian citizen but he came to the US when he was 7 yrs old. he just recently got his green card but now he has to wait 5 years before he can et his citizenship. the thing is he wants to become a cop after he graduates from college (which is in 2 yrs) but he cant unless he's a citizen. is there anyway to expedite the citizenship procedure?

and just incase anyone asks. i know that if we get married that he'll get his citizenship faster but he says he wants to get it on his own so that no one can say that thats the only reason he married me. my baby loves me like that. :)

  1. Legally he has broken the immigration laws and must be deported.  That will make him ineligiable for re-entry!

He would only marry you for citizenship.  You should either move to his country or find a LEGAL citizen to marry.  the egyptian will only be deported sooner or later...  Please report him to immigration so he can be deported ASAP.

  2. No senator has the power to grant citizenship.  Your bf has 5 years to go, half of which he is going to spending in school anyway.  Abide by the law.  ESPECIALLY if he wants to become a law enforcement officer.  Seeking special privileges now makes you look like the type who will be looking "for a little something under the table" while walking a beat.

  3. His parents have been students for 13 years now? Something doesn't sound right! I think you are not telling us the whole story! But no he/she can not grant citizenship.
