They most certainly do suck. I just worry the lack of oxygen is causing damage.

  1. no not at all. Everything you feel during an attack is entirely brought on by your mind. It kicks the body in to fight or flight mode to the max, so that's why you pass out b/c the physiological reactions to the intense fear are so extreme. No one has ever died or been injured by a panic attack unless the go complete nuts and hurt someone else or themself.

  3. I have had many panic and anxiety attacks in my life and suffer from generalized anxiety disorder. There is a website I have that makes me feel much better. It doesnt stop anxiety and panic attacks by any means but it lets you know that what you fear the most CANNOT happen.. Basically you can't pass out from a panic attack and if you do then its not a panic attack, no matter what kind of chest pains your having during a panic attack it is NOT a heart attack, etc. Sometimes I go on that page after an attack or just high anxiety and it helps me to relax knowing that the worst things I fear cannot and will not happen. You may feel short of breath and as if you are hyperventilating and cant breathe, but ytou ARE getting enough oxygen. Anxiety can be incredibily hard to deal with on your own.. Have you tried seeing a doctor and getting some medication to take when you feel your attacks come on? Or maybe therapy? Medication and therapy together are known to be an incredible combination in fighting anxiety. I take Prozac and Lorazepam and it helps immensely. Good luck!!

  4. No, don't worry about it. Panic attacks are when emotional 'meets' physical, but it won't do you any damage. I'm sure they are horrible, though.

  5. Although panic attacks are really scary u just have to keep in mind that NOTHING is physically wrong with u and its all in ur head. If  you are having panic attacks to the point were u are blacking out u should def. go see a doctor about that however like I said its all in ur head and can cause no physcial camage to urself in itself. Try taking deep breaths and telling ur self "its all in my head...im going to be okay....its nothing...this will pass" I try that or if I feel one coming on I try and take my mind of it like i will call my boyfriend or start reading something!

  6. no it won't cause brain damage.you're still breathing it's just the mind playing tricks making you think you're lacking oxygen but you're not really.it definitely won't
