  2. You can weld it, but you'll want to buy a new one.

    P.S. What's a Tog, and why do you hate it?

  3. Anything can be welded short of "pot metal" or copper. The shaft would need to be removed to keep from damaging anything else on the bike. Also the temps used to weld the shaft (depending on the metal it is made from) would cause a weaker link somewhere close to the repair most likely. A good machinist can make a NEW shaft easier than repair the old one and probably for about the same price as a new one from the factory.

  4. I think so, but you would need a different type of welder. My boyfriend says an aluminum welder would work.
