This video is confusing me. How is it a foul if he already shot the ball?

  1. Yes its a new rule that the commisioner made that if their is contact before and after its called a foul. The rule started this season

  2. His arms were still finishing the stroke.

  3. your shot isnt considered done until you land on the ground so any contact while your in the air before or after you release the ball is considered a shooting foul

  4. yes it can happen as long as they are still in the shooting form

  5. It confuses me too. I was there, watching a decent game, and some calls don't make any sense at all to me.

The point of shooting fouls is so that people don't use any extremely physical means of stopping a shot from connecting. Once the ball is in the air, why does it matter whether the man got slightly shoved. It's basketball, NBA, I've seen more contacts which result in no calls.

But the rules still stand, shooting fouls can be calculated after the shot.

Thanks for pointing it on Yahoo! Answers. Hopefully the NBA sees this post and creates an effort to change this ridiculous rule.
