Can a sibling take out?

a life insurance policy without their knowledge? I have an older brother whom I have not spoken to for 2yrs. I do not trust him at all. How can I find out. PLEASE help.

  1. No, you cannot take out a life insurance policy on someone without their knowledge.  They have to sign.

    Now he could forge your signature I suppose, but he could as easily do that for anyone on the street.

    I have to say this is a bizarre question. You haven't spoken in 2 yrs and you're worried about what, that he'll kill you for life insurance?  I don't get it.


  2. Only if you sign the policy can he take it on you and only if he signs can you take one on him.

    Should either case occur without the permission of the other party then forgery charges can be pressed.

  3. The first two answers are incorrect.  Anyone with an 'insurable interest" can buy a policy on the life of another.  Siblings will sometimes have such an interest.
