Can a sixteen year old female legally marry an eighteen year old male without parental consent in California?

  1. No. There are only 2 states that allow underage marriages without court approval and without parental consent but only if you are pregnant. Those states are Georgia and Maryland (have to 16 or 17 in Maryland).  Georgia does not specify an age limit for the minor if you are pregnant.  I find conflicting information about Maryland, but all the info I found for Georgia seems to be solid.  So you either have to wait until you are 18 or if you get pregnant with your BF and make a trip to Georgia with him you can get married. If you do happen to get pregnant and want to marry, make sure you have all the paper work you need and schedule an appointment with a Georgia official that will marry you before you make the trip.
